November is perfect for those who love traveling during the shoulder season. Depending on what part of the country you visit, you can either catch the tail end of fall or get a head start on winter activities. Plus, if you travel in early November, you’ll avoid the crowds traveling for Thanksgiving.

1. Los Angeles CA
If you’re looking for a warm getaway, Los Angeles is one of the best places to visit in November in the US. We loved being able to walk around in tees and shorts year-round.
With numerous beaches, plenty of outdoor patios, amazing food, and endless photo spots, you can never be bored.
Local Tip: The city is massive. To ensure we’re not sitting in traffic all day, we like to explore a specific area or neighborhood each day.
2. San Diego CA
We prefer the laidback vibes of San Diego and November is one of the sunniest times to visit. We love exploring the beaches in the area, plus there are a ton of breweries if you love craft beer.
Local Tip: Bring a light jacket. It can be chilly near the beach.
3. Joshua Tree National Park CA
November is when we start planning our trips out to Joshua Tree because the weather is perfect for climbing. It’s one of our favorite National Parks to visit since we get to meet up with our climbing buddies from SoCal. If you don’t climb, there are plenty of pretty photo spots and the stargazing is always amazing!
For a classic fall and Thanksgiving experience, NYC is perfect. Unlike many fall destinations, the peak fall foliage tends to be later, typically in mid-November. You can see also see the amazing floats from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Also, if you love Christmas, you’ll be able to catch all the holiday festivities as the holiday decor starts to go up and winter activities get into full swing.

Maui is one of the best places to visit in November in USA if you want to avoid the crowds and save some money. October and November are the slowest months out of the year since you’re visiting between the summer and winter rush, so prices will reflect that.

The best time to visit Big Sur is from September to November. November is the least busy month right before the wet season, which makes it easier to secure lodging.

We always tell all of our visitors to come in November. October can still be hit or miss on how hot it is, but come November you’re mostly in the clear of triple-digit weather. It’s also a popular time for rock climbers to start coming into town to climb at Red Rock.
9. Bryce Canyon National Park UT
Visiting Bryce Canyon in November can be a toss-up with the weather, but that can be part of the fun. You may see the hoodoos covered in snow or you may get dry, cool weather great for hiking. Regardless, it will be beautiful either way.
