LEGOLAND California Resort is home to three parks: Legoland California, Sea Life Aquarium, and Legoland Water Park. During our visit in November, the Water Park was closed, but we got to explore the other two.
Legoland is perfect for families and kids. Most of the rides are geared towards younger kids and include a lot of different interactive exhibits.

They also have seasonal events that make each visit unique. Our friends who live in San Diego especially love taking their kids to Brick-or-Treat every Halloween.
Even though we don’t have kids, since we grew up playing with legos, we could still appreciate the park! Also, since we love to travel, we had the most fun taking a tour around the world in Lego form!
The Coast Cruise ride can give you a great overview in just a few minutes, and you see iconic landmarks from all over the world. Afterward, you can round the corner and enter Miniland USA. This was my favorite part of the park since we got to see a lot of iconic landmarks of US cities we’ve left our hearts in. We found it especially fascinating how accurate many of the casinos on the Las Vegas strip were since we lived there last year!

And then a bunch of Star Wars worlds that Jacob geeked out over.
After walking around the rest of the park, we headed over to Sea Life Aquarium. Stand alone, the aquarium doesn’t compare to aquariums like the Georgia Aquarium or the Monterey Aquarium, but if you’re already at the park, it’s not a bad add-on. The main exhibit at the aquarium is the Lost City of Atlantis. It’s the largest and has plenty of different viewpoints to see everything.
PRO TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT TO LEGOLAND CALIFORNIA
- You will spend a lot of time exposed to the sun, so don’t forget sunblock.
- We brought a small daypack to carry some essentials and our packable water bottle (these are our favorite travel water bottles)
- It is cheaper to buy tickets online rather than at the park.
- Check the online calendar to see how long the park is open each day.
- Parking is $15 for cars ($25 for preferred / closer parking).
- Don’t forget to check the schedule, so you don’t miss out on any shows you want to see.
- We looked up food reviews at the park and decided to grab in-n-out before entering.
- If you collect Minifigures, you can bring them in to trade! They are also available for purchase at the park.
