Your Complete Guide to Bacchanal Buffet in Las Vegas

Lately, food halls are all the rage, and buffets are getting left behind. However, a few remaining buffets are still worth checking out, including Bacchanal Buffet in Las Vegas.

Let me start by saying that neither of us are buffet people. Although we occasionally eat AYCE KBBQ or sushi in Vegas, we typically avoid buffets because the food is underwhelming, and we don’t eat our money’s worth. Quality over quantity, right? But since moving to Vegas, where there’s a buffet around every corner, we kept hearing about how excellent Bacchanal Buffet is, so we had to try it for ourselves.

And I must admit it DID live up to the hype. There are no other buffet experiences quite like this one.

They underwent a recent renovation, and we finally went to see all the changes. The front half is fully renovated with updated stations that fit more food items, and the back half will be renovated this year.

One of the biggest changes is that they no longer focus on daily specials and instead change their menu twice a year for fall/winter and spring/summer with consistently good food.

Why is Bacchanal Buffet the Best Buffet in Las Vegas?

1. Virtual Lines

As you can imagine, Bacchanal lines can get quite backed up, but now they have FreshTxt kiosks that let you check in to the line, so you don’t have to wait there physically. You get a text when it’s your turn.

2. Seafood

If you even remotely like seafood, Bacchanal has something for you. Fresh-shucked oysters, mussels, hot and cold crab legs, shrimp, and scallops are just a few options. Crab is in high demand, and at Bacchanal, they secured enough good quality and size crab for the year. good in quality and size.

Pro Tip: You can see all the cold seafood items as you walk in, but the hot crab legs are around the corner, and they serve them to you vs self-serve.

3. Fresh and Hot Food

Buffet food has a reputation for feeling stale. They’ve been sitting out forever, kept slightly warm from trays and lamps. At Bacchanal, the chefs are constantly working to keep fresh food coming, and the staff does a good job refreshing the plates and pans.

4. The Atmosphere

This isn’t your typical cafeteria-like buffet! They’ve done a fantastic job to make you feel like you’re dining in a nice restaurant. The only difference is that you get your own food… and can stuff your faces in a not-so-fancy manner.

5. Have allergies or food restrictions?

All their menu items have labels for dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, contains pork) and possible allergens. They currently have around 10-12 vegan dishes and 20-25 gluten-free options.

6. Have it Your Way

Bacchanal gives you an array of stations that let you customize your dish, like crepes made in front of you.

One of the popular new stations is the Birria Taco Bar, where you can watch them make quesabirria tacos fresh! This is one of Chef Matthew’s favorite menu items. His other favorite are the salt and pepper frog legs.

7. The Dessert

Make space for their yummy desserts even if you’re stuffed. An entire island is dedicated to 30-40 mouthwatering concoctions that feature everything from chocolate lava cakes to crepes made to order. Don’t forget to check out their gelato too! The word on the street is, they’re going to introduce mochi donuts soon.

Pro Tip: Chef Roman’s favorite desserts include Thai tea, flans and custards, s’mores, and tiramisu with the coffee beans on top.

9. The Classics

I know I’ve been talking about all their unique and creative dishes. Don’t worry. They still make American classics, whether your favorites are pizza, fries, or BBQ.

Here’s everything we ate on our most recent visit. Our most memorable food items were the quesabirria tacos, plantains, ube horchata, and Vietnamese coffee coupe. Even if it’s a gamble, I always try Korean or Korean-inspired foods. I wasn’t a big fan of the kimchi fried rice because it was more Hawaiian-style than Korean-style, which is typically how you find it in Vegas.

Essential Tips for Visiting Bacchanal Buffet

  • Make a reservation to ensure you get a spot.
  • Go during weekdays and off hours to avoid crowds. We went at 330 pm for a very early dinner.
  • Have a plan since it can be overwhelming with 250 total dishes. We like to do a quick walk-through to see all the stations before picking up food.
  • Dinner is the fan favorite. 60% of menu items are available all day. There isn’t much crab for brunch. Crab brunch has more, but everything is out at dinner (i.e., bigger seafood items like lobster claws two ways, three different crabs, bone marrow, and t-bone). Get NY Strip on weekends.
  • Don’t pile up your plate. Get a little, sit down, and eat so your food stays fresh and doesn’t get cold. It’s a buffet, so you can always get second, thirds, and more later.
  • Stick with one area for each plate rather than hopping around to multiple stations. We’ve found that this is the best way to ensure we get to try everything we want. Plus, it’s fun to have each course be themed.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout to use before and after getting food.
  • Don’t forget your stretchy pants!

What’s the difference in the weekday vs. weekend buffet? Why are the prices different?

Hi Mike, they typically offer more premium options. It’s also just busier :)
