After an action packed weekend in Fallon Nevada, Loon Lake was the perfect place to hide away and relax. It’s tucked away in the mountains along the coast of Oregon, and we parked our Airstream just a stones throw away from the water at Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort.
Loon Lake is a hidden gem known mostly by locals but is also a great weekend getaway for anyone looking for a secluded spot and fun on the water.
They have their own on-site Marina where you can bring your own water vehicles or rent one of their many options: jetskis, SUP, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats, water skis, etc. We took full advantage of being so close to the lake. Jacob hopped on a jet ski and got a good work out on the SUP. Then we took the pontoon out for a relaxing ride around the lake. Since we were there during a slower week, it felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves.
During July – August, the lake becomes a totally new place! Families looking for a great spot to have fun start arriving and there is more action on the lake, so you can plan your trip depending on what’s your scene.
When we weren’t on the water, we enjoyed the views and quiet seclusion from our trailer. There are a few towns and cities nearby, but knowing that we were headed up to Portland after, we decided to just take in the outdoors as much as we could.
If you’re not in an RV, you can also rent cottages, a motel room, cabins, yurts, houseboat or even a house right on the water’s shore. If you are in an RV, you can also check out all the places we’ve stayed so far on our #EndlessCaravan.
