We got to ride on a hot air balloon yesterday in Temecula. It was so beautiful overlooking all the vineyards. Because the flight was during sunrise, we woke up at 3 to drive a couple hours south of LA to Monte de Oro Winery where the hot air balloon was taking off. We were tired from only getting two hours of sleep at most and driving through traffic (yes there was traffic at 3:30 AM), but after a mimosa or two, we ended up enjoying the ride. I’m normally afraid of heights, but the wind was still, and the balloon ride was surprisingly calming and peaceful. I’m so glad I got to knock it off my bucket list. :)
Had a couple of photos I posted on my instagram as well. :) I’ve also been wanting to go to a big hot air balloon festival. Maybe the Albuquerque Balloon Festival or maybe Cappadocia?! What is something you’ve been wanting to cross off your bucket list lately?
These photos are epic!! And I’m so so jealous that you got to do this. It’s been on my bucket list for the longest time. Apparently there’s a hot air balloon festival in Callaway Gardens every Labor Day, so I may have to do that next year. Though I have this feeling that the views won’t be nearly as pretty as the ones you had :)
you should see if they do them in dahlonega since there are a lot of vineyards there!
i love the shots where you can see the balloons amongst the clouds, with the ground far below.those vineyards are gorgeous from up top. God’s work in creating all this, it’s incredible.
thanks! :) yeah it’s pretty crazy being able to see everything for a high vantage point. same with looking out of a plane.. it really gives you a bit more perspective on the world.
