I looove my sushi! Esther, on the other hand, isn’t a huge fan but is willing to go when I crave it. It also helps that she’s always down to try new things (isn’t she an awesome wife?). Esther does love pretty and photogenic things too, so our visit to Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar was perfect for us!
As we walked into the restaurant, we really loved the décor. The geometric and sharp lines gave it a very crisp, clean, and modern look. We arrived at 1:30PM on a Friday, and it was still busy!
We started our meal off with the Lobster Bun, the Coconut Kiss, and the Blue Ocean Hawaiian.
It was a delicious and filling start. Afterwards, we shared the Blue Ocean “Omakase” Box. This is basically the chef’s selection of their best sushi and sashimi. When the sushi is fresh, this is my favorite way to have it. We even had Uni (sea urchin) in ours, which I wouldn’t normally order, but it was so fresh and buttery. Esther even gave it a taste!
We ended our meal with a Chocolate Fondue for 2 with chili orange chocolate:
With their huge menu, there is plenty more to explore and try. They did the traditional sushi well and their more creative dishes like the Lobster Bun was delicious too. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll definitely have to dive deeper into their menu! In the meantime, I might have to pick up my own sushi kit to make some at home when Esther’s not in the mood.
