With our Atlanta CityPASS, we decided next to go to Zoo Atlanta. The zoo in Atlanta is not the biggest or most popular attraction so we didn’t expect much. We went on a weekday and it felt like we had the zoo all to ourselves. To our surprise, we had a great time!
We saw lions and tigers and bears!
Timon and Pumbaa!
The oriental small-clawed otter looked really sad:
The silverback gorilla
Pandas! I bonded with one of them:
Red pandas are so cute! We tried to wake him from his sleep, but he wouldn’t budge:
Tanuki! Finally get to meet the guy who’s in the original Mario Brothers 3 who helps him fly!
The petting zoo. I thought the goats were going to kick me so I kept some distance and pet them from afar:
The Golden Lion Tamarin:
The rides were included in our city pass, so why not!
TIPS:
- Go on weekdays to avoid crowds.
- The zoo smells so much less when it’s cooler outside! Fall & our mild winters are perfect.
- Parking is free.
- If you’re planning on going to a few Atlanta attractions, pick up a CityPASS to save you money.
