A few weeks ago, we were invited up to Carmel, CA to stay at the Hofsas House Hotel. As we pulled up to the family-owned boutique inn, we could instantly feel its European charm. It made me reminisce of fond memories I had while temporarily living in a small town in East Germany in 2009.
As we headed to our room, the first thing we noticed was the view of the Pacific Ocean from the second floor deck. Overlooking pines, Carmel, and beach, it’s a great spot to see the sunset.
We didn’t take advantage of the other amenities since we were busy exploring Carmel and Monterey, but there’s a heated swimming pool, dry saunas, and of course wifi (can’t live without the wifi!). Also for you dog people out there, they do have rooms that are dog friendly!

The Hofsas House has 38 uniquely decorated rooms. The furniture felt handpicked and like they poured in a lot of love into each room. We also had a small kitchen for those who like to cook on the road.
There was cozy fireplace by the bed that we took advantage of every night.
Carmel by the Sea is amazing. You really feel like you’re far away from everything, but it’s just a short drive away and you’re in Monterey, Pebble Beach, Big Sur, or Pacific Grove.
