After spending a couple of nights in Carmel by the Sea, we headed inland to Carmel Valley to stay at Holman Ranch. This private estate has amazing grounds and facilities with a rich history that you can use for weddings, special events, family gatherings, or corporate retreats. Established in 1928, the ranch has had different iterations and focuses, but anyone who visits can’t deny how amazing the view is of the mountains and valley around you.
We stayed in the overnight guest rooms, which, with their rustic decor, really set the mood for a getaway at a ranch. Just steps away from the guest rooms is a beautiful Spanish Hacienda main house. The detail in the decor and amazing architecture show how much care went into the designs and restoration of the home.
Afterward, we got a tour of the estate. It has 21 acres of vineyards and has only been making wine for about 24 years! The vineyards are all certified organic and sustainable and make their wine responsibly.
We even had a chance to check out the wine caves and try some of the wines straight from the barrels!
Fun fact: Charlie Chaplin used to frequent the ranch and did shows for guests here.
When we first laid eyes on Holman Ranch, we already imagined all the beautiful wedding photos that could be taken here. It’s a shame we didn’t know about it before we got married. We couldn’t resist taking some of our own tripod shots!
Although it’s not open to public, you can hold private events at Holman Ranch. Weddings are common, but you can also have family gatherings, special events, or corporate retreats. The Lowder family and staff are amazing and they can put together a truly unique experience for you that will be unforgettable.
