Mercado San Pedro Cusco Peru

After two days of shopping and exploring the city, we were struggling to find some local snacks and treats to bring home to our friends and family.  On our last day in Cusco before our hike, we were talking with Alain from ChocoMuseo, and he mentioned a marketplace where all the locals go.

At Mercado Central de San Pedro, there were a lot of vendors crowded under one roof all selling very similar items side by side.  Although it wasn’t great for buying local snacks to bring home, it was a great discovery and definitely where you would go to buy any fresh produce or meat.  If we had a kitchen where we were staying, we would have cooked ourselves some authentic peruvian meals.  My favorite part was the juice stands where I got some fresh squeezed mango pineapple juice!  If only it wasn’t our last day in Cusco, we would have been regulars at that fruit stand!
