Our friend, Josh, does foodie fridays on his blog, and I thought it might be fun to give it a try on ours. We eat out pretty frequently but usually end up at the same asian places near our house. We want to get out of the regular routine and try a new place in Atlanta once a week and then possibly share some of our food adventures through our lens.
We were in Decatur for a shoot yesterday, so we decided to stop into Golden Buddha per recommendation of a friend recently. I had passed this place so many times and wrote it off as just another chinese restaurant with americanized chinese food mainly catering to the college students at emory. Well, I was wrong, and everyone else thinks I’m crazy for finding this out now. It has some of the best koreanized chinese food I’ve had in a while in Atlanta. I cannot believe it took me this long to find it. There aren’t that many places with decent jja jang myun (noodles with black soybean paste), and this one hits the spot.
We also ordered the kkan pung gi (spicy braised chicken wings) there. The flavor of the sauce was spot on. Jacob said he even liked this better than Bonchon.
I know this place is a bit of a drive from where we live, but I think it’s totally worth it. Anything else I should order there next time? If you’ve been somewhere better, leave us a comment below, we’d love to give it a try!
