What camera gear do you use?
Our main setup is the Canon 5D Mark III + a 35 mm lens for photos, but we use a variety of lenses and gear for different types of photography outings (ie, waterfall hikes, astrophotography, wildlife, etc). You can also see our complete guide to camera gear for bloggers to see how we use our photo gear. For vlogs, we use the Canon g7x and the Sony RX100 Mark IV.
I’ve always wanted to have a blog. How do you get started?
How do you make a living from blogging?
The short answer is through sponsorships, affiliate sales, and ads. If you want to learn how we started and got to this point, read our post on how to travel for a living. If you’re ready to monetize your site, read this.
Can I link to your site?
Yes. We’re do happy to hear you want to link to our posts.
Can I pin your photos?
Sure, pin away!
Can I use your photos in a post?
Please, let us know which photo on which post you’d like to use. Most of the time we’re more than happy to give you permission as long as it’s credited and linked back to the original post.
How are you always on vacation?
As travel bloggers, we travel quite a bit, but despite what you might think, we do the bulk of our work behind a desk (at home!). Our blog is based on doing local adventures, so we spend most of our time exploring the city we currently live in and plan 1-2 international trips a year. For the past 5 years, none of our trips have been true vacations. It’s almost impossible to turn off because everything can be created into content. But this is the best way to think of it: they may be terrible vacations, but probably one of the world’s best jobs.
