Our Magical Getaway at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch

We were excited to cross off a goal from our 15 and 2015 and visit Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and Capitol Reef National Park. Our initial plan was to spend a couple days in the area camping and hiking, but we saw that the temperatures were dropping below freezing at night, so we decided to look for alternatives. SO glad we did!

After doing some research, we saw great reviews of Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch. It was also serendipitous that the weekend of our trip was the first weekend they were opening for the season.

We arrived late at night after the offices had closed, but they left an envelope for us with welcome information and directions to our cabin. Since there were 5 of us, we booked Cabin 3, which sleeps up to 6 people. When we pulled up, they had the heat on ready for us to get cozy.

There was king sized bed downstairs and 4 twin-sized beds in the loft. A kitchenette area was home to a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom had the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. There was also a stack of fresh towels ready for us. After getting settled, we hung out and relaxed before calling it a night.

The next morning, we headed to The Ranch where they had a complimentary continental breakfast made up of pastries and fruits. There’s also a full menu that you can order from. Our friends ordered a few different things during our stay, and everything was delicious.

The Ranch has a main room with WIFI access and is a great place to hangout. Downstairs, there’s a small store and the friendly, knowledgeable staff can help you make the most of your time.

Their restaurant, Sweetwater Kitchen, has amazing food! We didn’t try everything in the area, but I think from what we’ve tried, it’s safe to say it’s THE BEST place to eat around southern Utah. Our bellies were very thankful.

They have an onsite garden and chicken coop where they get fresh ingredients.

Look who we ran into when we came back! He was so adorable and friendly. I hope he’s just the resident pig, and not what’s for dinner (though that pork belly was amazing)…..

Besides the cabins and rooms in The Ranch, they also have Cowboy Tents and Tipis if you’re looking for a more outdoorsy stay. If you’re not into hiking or backpacking, there’s mountain biking, horseback riding, canyoneering, and fly fishing as just a few options.

If you visit, be sure to let them know that Local Adventurer sent you!
