FLY OVER ICELAND - A must!!! As is The PERLAN centre - A must!!!
Whales are living in the port harbour area, so you will see them. Blue lagoon was magical! Elderly parent with cold & aches, came out pain free!
Everything within walking distance, and parking available everywhere - roads are quiet for driving and easy to navigate. We drove golden circle ourselves in our own time and saved money. Very expensive all the tours & everything. Amazing time was had - def not long enough - need to visit again in the summer next time. Just amazing!

Loved walking around the city and felt safe at all times.
Loved walking around the city and felt safe at all times.
Visited an excellent local coffee shop, Te & Kaffi.
On previous visits, I did not have time to go up the tower at Hallgrimskirkja and so made the time and it was well worth it for the views around the city.
The only downside to Iceland is the high cost of food and drink to what I am used to, but the quality has been excellent.
I did shopping for snacks and gifts in Bonus. One chocolate bar in a corner supermarket was 649 ISK, and 389 ISK in Bonus!

We went to Eyja restaurant the first night because it was close to our accommodations. The next day we went to Thingvellir National park which was about a 30 minute car ride. The park was beautiful! We went to Perlan the next day and say the parts of Iceland we couldn't get to in this trip. The museum was great and well worth the visit.
For the night life we found Lebowski Bar just walking around. It was a good time but we got there too late to get food. That's all the time we had in Reykjavik before we traveled north to Akureyri.

Great place to visit, lots to do, were able to walk to everything. Public pools were awesome. We used public transportation, it took a look work to navigate, but once we figured it out it was great. Food a little pricey, but less expensive selections if you look for them.

Lots of events showing the natural geothermal aspects that make Iceland what it is today i.e Lava show, heated swimming pools, northern lights, etc.
Did not like the different parking zones in the centre of the city.
We had a double room with a view of the church, it was very spacious, warm and clean. The location was the best part, it was a few minutes walk to the main streets and sea front. Free street parking was great. The staff at IG really made it feel homely and were always there to greet and give recommendations, Alberto especially was extremely friendly and made it feel like staying with a friend! We've stayed at many hotels in Reykjavik before and this humble guesthouse was actually our favourite place to stay, we would definitely return!
The accomodation was clean and the location is really perfect, the BSÍ bus terminal was close by, it's a walking distance to the city centre, plus there are a bunch of day trips where a bus will pick you up directly from the hostel. The rooms, beds and bedding were simple but quite comfortable and clean. There are a lot of bathrooms on every floor so even with the hostel almost full, I never waited too long for one. The kitchenette has everything you need to make a quick. For such a cheap price, this is really an amazing place to stay.
This place was great. Friendly staff that told us how long it’d take to walk places, had great suggestions on what to do, and were very helpful with any questions we had.
The room was great, it was bigger than expected, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice.
Walking around, this hotel is one street or so in from walking along the shore. The views we saw and pictures we took were so pretty! And it’s not a far walk to the downtown stuff. The whole place is very walkable.
I’d stay here again if I’m ever in Reykjavik agin.
The Downtown Reykjavik Apartments are an affordable way to see Iceland on a budget. They are not fancy, but they are comfortable enough and provide a kitchen where you can save money by cooking your meals. (You can get to the Bonus grocery store with a 10 minute walk.) We also walked to the church and Sun Voyager from the apartments. It's very close to bus stop #13, and bus stop #12 is a little farther but is also an easy walk. Easy check in, secure, and instructions were clear. We were happy with our 3 night stay.
The hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of the city but somehow managed to stay away from the noise. The rooms were absolutely lovely and kept spotlessy clean and restocked daily. Dont start me on the bed.... So comfy! Slept like a log.The breakfast was also really lovely and plenty of choice.. Staffed by very cheery and helpful staff. All put together... We had the best few days in Reykjavik. I would strongly recommend.
I only stayed for one night and didn't spend much time at the hostel but for a bed to sleep in for one night it was totally fine, clean and friendly staff. I was there in May and there were not many other guests, so the bathrooms were free and clean. Can totally recommend it if you are looking for a cheap and good option to stay one or two nights in Reykjavik. The best thing: it is super close to the city center!
The location is great. The guesthouse is a short walk from downtown Reykjavik. I selected this location for the price and proximity to the local airport. It was very satisfactory for those aspects. I was able to walk to the airport for an early flight (approx. 40 min walk). The room was very simple, but met my needs for a place to stay the night. The self check-in instructions were also very clear and reliable.
Nice stay in the Center of Reykjavik. Breakfast was very good and the staff was very attentive and nice. We had a kettle and tea and coffee in the room. Even though we had a room on the first floor, it was still quiet.
Bus from the bus station (if you take the bus from the airport, it first brings you to the bus station and you take another bus to the city there) stops 1 min walking distance from the hotel.
We rented two beautiful apartments that were fully furnished. Apartments were truly walking distance from groceries and downtown. Very easy to recommend to anyone who wants to have a very central location in Reykjavik to see all the sights and sounds Iceland has to offer. Also only a 5 - 10 minutes walk from the coast road where you can see some beautiful sights of the snow topped mountains.
This hotel is fab for staying in Reykjavík. It is a little out of the main town but a pleasant walk in but buses come and go all the time xx the property is clean with a great onsite restaurant . Rolls are a good size and serve they’re purpose. The tour buses also start at this hotel which is a plus as we could all sit together xx just a great place to stay
Ha guys, thank you so much, had an amazing time! You would'nt expect that much from a fairly cheap hostel in the heart of Reykjavik, next time I'll come to Iceland I won't even look at any other places to stay, this is now my go to!
very cool hostel, bar, value, staff, cheap beer, i mean, seriously fecking perfect!! See youz later, until next time! :)
One of the nicest hotels we've ever visited! Fantastic city centre location, room was beautiful, breakfast was great and all staff on reception were extremely helpful. They allowed us to check in early after having driven for three hours through a blizzard to reach Reykjavik and also helped organise our bus transfer to Keflavik Airport.
The room was clean and had almost everything needed for a short stay. The city centre was only a 20 minute walk away and the supermarket next door was really handy. The area is also very quiet at night. Perfect room for a couple looking for a cheaper stay in Reykjavik!
Hotels Location is in the center of everything and I don't know if Sandholt is a part of hotel but they have the best pastry/bread in Iceland.
The hotels front desk, cleaning ladies to the breakfast crew, they were all efficient and friendly.
It’s a perfect place to stay in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. They make it easy to get into the hotel and room with their keyless pin pads. The room was very comfortable and quiet; a good place to stay after our long trip on the ring road.
property is in a great location! right downtown Reykjavik. my husband and I were able to park our car at the car park across the street and then walk everywhere for the two days. was a very clean hotel and staff were friendly.
Hotel Muli was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Free coffee and laundry as well. The hotel is close to many restaurants and bars as well as downtown Reykjavik. would stay again!
Location was perfect, easy walking distance from Central Reykjavik. Hotel is budget accommodation but worth staying at if you have to do iceland on the cheaper side.
This is our go-to hotel in 101 Reykjavik. Never disappoints. Parking was available. Convenient to downtown Reykjavik and its sights. Breakfast is typical.
